Dear Parent/Carer

P1 and P2 are very excited as always, about their Christmas Nativities. Parents/Carers with children in P1 and P2 have been invited to attend next week and we look forward to seeing you then.

We warmly invite Parents/Carers of P3 to P7 children to our annual Christmas Assembly held in St Stephen’s Church at 1.45 on Wednesday 21st December. We hope you can join us.

The Pupil Council have been discussing helping people who are homeless and have asked to do a dress down day to raise some money for the charity ‘Crisis at Christmas.’ Children are invited to come to school on Friday 16th wearing Christmas jumpers, santa hats etc for a suggested donation of £1. Thank you.

Absence during term-time.

We have a new form that can be completed for requests for absence during term-time. This form will be available on our website shortly. In the meantime, the form will be available in the pocket next to the lunch forms at the front door or from the school office.

We have a dedicated absence line which we would encourage you to use when reporting your child’s absence. The phone number for this is 0131 332 8539. Thank you.

School lunch orders. Reminder.

Termly order payments or any amendments to school lunch orders need to be in by Monday morning for January – March 2017. Many thanks.

A number of children in P5,6 and 7 took part in the Primary Mathematics Challenge and were very successful indeed, winning Gold, Silver and Bronze certificate level results. Well done to all and particularly to Corin who scored very highly indeed.

The Music School Primary Concert was a huge success this week. It was a real pleasure to listen to the wonderful performances. Well done everyone!

P7 learning this term focussed around their café project. The winning café design, ‘Smooth-EE’ was set up in the dining hall this morning. It was superb! Many congratulations to all.

We are looking forward to tasting more home baking on Friday the 16th December. The Parent Council have asked the parents/carers in P3 and P4 to bake. Pop along at the end of the morning to stock up on delicious goodies for the weekend.

The nursery, P1 and P2 are looking forward to the visit from Hopscotch Theatre on Wednesday…. ‘Oh no we’re not! Oh, yes we are!’

Have a lovely weekend.

Best wishes,

Irene Brennan
