Flora’s Flyer for Friday 14 September 2106

Dear Parent/Carer

What an unexpected day last Wednesday with no water! Many thanks for your prompt response and understanding. Thanks also to Scottish Water for repairing the burst pipe through the night.

It was lovely to see so many parents and carers attend our Curriculum/Meet the Teacher talks last Tuesday. We hope that you enjoyed sharing the learning and meeting the staff.

Look out in the press for Qori,Carrie, Bertie and Kate who launched the Tesco Bank Art Competition this week. They looked amazing in their astronaut costumes. Well done!

P4 had wonderful trips to the Botanics this week to support their learning about the Rainforest.

Huge congratulations to the following P7 pupils who were elected as House Captains and Vice-Captains this week following very successful election speeches. Well done!

Orchard Lewis, Captain and Amanda, Vice-Captain

Learmonth Miai, Captain and Qori, Vice-Captain

Inverleith Ellie, Captain and Freddie, Vice-Captain

Raeburn Ben, Captain and Maddie, Vice-Captain

We had a fun time at the Head Teacher’s Tea Party after Head Teacher’s Awards were presented at our assemblies to:

P1 Daniel, Ailsa, Jacob, Millie, Connor and Sadie

P2 Rajj, Marshall, Thora, Gabriel, Weronika and Heather

P3 Guyatri and Euan

P4 Kate, Ella and Vincent

P5 Daksh, Chloe and Archie

P6 Lucian, Josh and Daniel

P7 Ben and Lewis

Thank you to Corin for playing the piano so beautifully at assembly.

Monday 19th is a holiday and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Tuesday.

Finally, I would like to remind everyone about the dangers to our children by parking outside the school and not in designated parking spaces or Waitrose car park. The road was completely blocked this week when emergency vehicles were called to the flats opposite the main gate. Although our vehicle gate is locked for the safety of our children, it MUST be kept clear at all times for emergency vehicles. Please, please park with consideration for the safety of all our children. Thank you.

Best wishes
