Dear Parent/Carer
As we move into October, the weather we should have enjoyed in the summer break has arrived! It has been great to play in the sunshine, enjoying our newly unveiled parts of the playground! It is nearly complete. The coastal route from Canada through the USA to Mexico is now painted. That will be a very useful area when P6 do their Bikeability training! The artificial grass and the beautiful bright blue ‘river’ is looking fabulous and we have had a great time playing on the boxes in Europe! Not long to go now!
This week’s Head Teacher Award winners are:
P1 Charlie, Sofia, Clyde, Mihika, Dexter, Sadie, Marshall and Emily.
P2 Raiyan, Aadya, Jayden, Max, Maciek and Beth
P3 Mohsin, Stella and Holly
P4 Jamie, Aliyah and Alma
P5 Amir, Abby and Tanisha
P6 Betsy
P7 Scott, Emma and Elliot
Music Amelia
Very well done to you all!
You will have received a flyer about an opportunity to have your family portrait taken. This is a fundraising event which we ran a few years ago. It was very successful. Please complete your form to book a slot!
We look forward to seeing Parents and Carers next week at our Parent-Teacher Consultations on Wednesday and Thursday. The Scholastic Book Fair takes place next week. A percentage of the proceeds are used to buy books for the library. Thank you for your support.
The Parent Council Meeting is on Monday evening at 7pm. We hope you are able to come along!

The Flora Stevenson Primary School First Lego League Team 2015, had their first meeting today. Initially the ten students, made up of boys and girls from P5-P7, worked to create ten base models that were added to our challenge board. For the second half of the session those who were not familiar with computer programming were given an introductory lesson by Mr Clarke. Over the next three months we will create a robot from Lego Mindstorms EV3. The theme of the challenge is "Trash Trek "and our robot will work in our trash recycling plant. See twitter for more details.
Best wishes
Irene Brennan
