Dear Parent/Carer
It was lovely to meet so many parents/carers at our Curriculum Information Evening last Tuesday. We hope you found the evening informative. Please look out for a letter home next week about our individual Parent-Teacher Consultations on 7 and 8 October.

Well done to you all!
The playground developments continue to make excellent progress and are looking very good! We are all very excited about it! We would like to send out a plea for any old trowels, small spades, rakes, pots, pans etc to use in our new sandpit. Thank you
Also, if you have any games or puzzles that you no longer want, please consider donating them to the school to use in classrooms during break and lunchtime when the weather is too wet to go outside. We would be very grateful for any donations.
Many thanks indeed to all parents and carers who are parking in Waitrose or Orchard Brae and keeping the road in front of the school clear for emergency vehicles to both our school and Carlyle Court next door. I would like to remind you that Carlyle Court has a private carpark for residents use only. Please do not use the carpark for turning or parking. Many thanks.
With our new build in place, we have been busy re-organising our general purpose spaces in the school. We need a little help to move some books and equipment. If you can spare an hour to help organise these spaces, we would be very grateful indeed. Please contact the school office.
This coming October Flora’s will embark on the First Lego League, Trash Trek Challenge.
See this link for more information. http://firstlegoleague.theiet.org/challenge/index.cfm
The team that will complete the challenge must be made up of no more than 10 pupils chosen from P5 – 7. Participation will involve taking on a role of a planner, builder, presenter or programmer to name but a few. All of the challenge work will be conducted over break and lunchtimes. There are tight deadlines for each stage of the challenge so only those who can fully commit themselves need apply. If you are interested and are in P5-7 please come to Mr Baxter’s office at 1.15pm on Tuesday the 23rd September.
We hope you have an enjoyable long weekend and look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday 22 September when we warmly welcome Mrs Fraser, Acting Depute Headteacher to join us for the rest of the session.
Best wishes
Irene Brennan
