Dear Parent/Carer
It is lovely to be back at school. We hope that you all enjoyed a really good summer break despite the weather!
We are delighted with our new classrooms and at how well Primary One have settled in. A huge thank you to everyone involved in the project and a very special thanks to the P1 staff and Mr MacInnes for all the hard work setting the rooms up for our return.
The playground is coming along nicely and we are very excited about the fabulous design.
A very warm welcome to our new pupils, parents/carers and members of staff. We hope that you will enjoy your time at Flora’s.
We are delighted to welcome Mrs Cally Fraser to our staff as Acting Depute Headteacher while Ms McGhee is on secondment to Colinton Primary. Mrs Fraser will start in a few weeks. We wish Ms McGhee all the best for the coming year in her new post.
What would help us in our busy playground at the moment? It would be helpful if P1 parents and carers stood to the side and left a pathway through, and if cyclists waited until P1 had gone in before pushing their bikes to the rear of the playground.
At the end of the day could P1 parents stand back and then step forward when their child is at the front of the queue allowing the teacher to hand your child over. If someone else is picking your child up, please let the teacher know in advance.
We have a number of children in school with allergies and would be grateful if you could bear that in mind when sending in a snack/packed lunch for your child. In addition, please do not send in birthday cake, sweets or other treats for the class. Thank you.
