The Flora Stevenson Primary School in Cake |
Dear Parent/Carer
Here we are at the end of another busy week and only one more to go before the summer break!
Qually
The Primary Sevens had a fantastic ‘Qually’ last night. They were an absolute credit to themselves and the school and we had a great evening. Loved the outfits! A huge thank you to all the support staff who decorated the hall in an ‘Under the Sea’ theme complete with jellyfish (from the art club, thank you) and a yellow submarine! 400 balloons were dropped from the ceiling in a spectacular finale. A big thank you must also go to Mrs Leslie and Mrs Bisset for organising such a super event and to all the staff for making it such a fun evening.
Fundraising for a new library.
Today saw an amazing cake sale! The stall was groaning with the wonderful home baking sent in and there were many happy, chocolate smeared faces enjoying fantastic cupcakes and other goodies! The raffle was drawn and we all waited with baited breath to see who would win the Porsche Experience. A huge thank you to Carolyn Embleton and Katie Llewellin for an incredible amount of work organising the raffle and bake sale. A huge thank you also to all the businesses who supplied the great prizes. Carolyn and Katie told me that the raffle sales were well over £2000. Wow!

Next Session
You should have received your letter telling you which class and teacher your child is with next session. The new build is looking great now that the scaffolding is down and we look forward to opening the doors to our new P1 pupils in August. It will take a few more weeks when we come back for the playground to be completed, however, we are enjoying using the new loose parts play equipment. Thank you to the parents who stocked the shed with such fun items!

Transition
The Primary Seven children enjoyed a three day visit to their High Schools this week. This event was a great success and will aid a smooth transition to High School.
Let them eat cake!
The Pupil Council had a fantastic time today decorating a cake in the shape of our school for the Cakefest at The Royal Botanic Garden on Sunday. Flora’s cake complete with miniature pupils and Head Teacher will form part of a cake map of the city. The doors open at 12.00 and there are free workshops for children, free entertainment and at 5pm, the cakes are cut up and everyone can tuck in.
A massive thank you to Annemarie from Ivory Tower Cakes for working with our children today and Jane Ali-Knight for organising. We hope you can make it along.
Have a lovely weekend.
