Dear Parent/Carer

I am pleased to be back at school. I would like to extend my thanks to Mr Rae, Mr Baxter, Ms McGhee and all the staff for all their hard work in my absence.

Scots Fortnight
Our pupils have enjoyed learning about different aspects of Scottish life and culture over the past two weeks. We would like to invite parents to school next Thursday morning to see the classes perform a short song or poem or two.

After the short performance parents are welcome to visit their child’s class for 15 minutes. This is an opportunity for you to share in the learning that takes place at Flora’s.

Please see the timetable below. Performances will start promptly at the times below. Tea and Coffee will be available.

Many thanks to Lucy and Shakira for playing a beautiful Scottish Lament at our assembly this morning. We also had a wonderful demonstration of the pipes and drums from the Pipe Band that meets in Broughton High School on Saturday mornings. These lessons are free, instruments are provided and pupils from P5 to P7 are invited to attend and learn either pipes or drums. Leaflets have gone home today with children who expressed an interest. Leaflets can also be obtained from the school office.

The Loose Parts Play this week was a huge success with the children and we look forward to implementing it in Flora’s. Thank you to all for organising.

Congratulations to Lucy and Alicia who have been awarded places in the National Junior Youth Orchestra of Scotland. Very well done indeed!

Best wishes

Irene Brennan
