Flora's Flyer for 19/01/18

Dear Parent/Carer

FLORA FIGURES has got off to a great start! This week our pupils have been counting forwards and backwards and pupils and staff have said

‘I’ve been doing decimal counting up and down (in the car!)’
‘I’m trying to count up in multiples and trying not to make a mistake and hesitate’
‘I’m getting tested by a friend’
‘We did a class orchestra, one person conducts and the rest of us count’
‘Already I’ve seen a huge difference in the speed and confidence of the children’

HURRAH! We’ve had a great response to our Flora Figures morning and, if you can’t make it at 9am, we are delighted to be able to invite you in on Wed 7th March at 6pm. More info to follow.

Our relationship with our community friends is important to us. We use the community room at Waitrose and they have organised tours for our Fairtrade Forum. Pure Gray put on a celebration party for children involved in our Seasons for Growth Group. The Royal Bank and Borthwicks support Financial Education work,  and all four of them helped us with our "Santa, where are you?" film! It has saddened us this week to have received concerns about parents from our school and nursery parking in the bank during drop off and pick up. The car park is for customer use only. You can park for free in Waitrose and on street parking is available close by. We expect and appreciate your support with this.

Lovely assemblies today from P2B and P4B. One of our parents noticed that when the Head Teacher’s Awards were given out the children round about were smiling and encouraging the winners! A real reflection that we are building up a Back Up Team here at Flora’s!

Have a great weekend, stay warm!

From Ms McGhee and everyone at Flora’s!
