Dear Parent/Carer
We ended this week with the launch of Flora’s Forums after assembly on Friday. This new initiative will run over the whole session and will provide children in P3 to P7 with enhanced opportunities to work together. It also allows pupils the chance to be more responsible for their own choices in learning and seeks to develop leadership skills. The six Flora’s Forums are:
Eco Schools
The John Muir Award
Fairtrade Schools
Rights Respecting School
Health and Wellbeing and
The Global Goals
We are also keen to have the support of parents at these sessions. If you feel you have skills or an interest in any of the Forum topics, then please let Mr Rae know. Further information on our Forums was sent out by Parentmail this week. Please have a look at our Twitter Account to see the Forums in action at the launch on Friday.
We enjoyed the opportunity to meet up with so many parents and carers at the Parent Council AGM. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Parent Council for their huge contribution to the effective learning and teaching at Flora’s. We value your support immensely. I would like to extend a particular thank you to the three outgoing chairs, Brian Coane, Lindsey Law and Steven Clarke for their hard work and enthusiasm during their time as co-chairs of the Parent Council.
We are looking forward to meeting parents and carers for individual consultations with staff on Wednesday and Thursday, The Scholastic Book Fair is open during Wednesday’s Parent-Teacher Consultations but not on Thursday. Many thanks for your support of our Book Fair. The commission received is used to purchase books for our library. Thank you.
