Flora's Flyer for Friday the 12th February 2016

Dear Parent/Carer

The mid-term break is upon us and hopefully the weather will stay dry! We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school and nursery on Monday 22 February.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Brocklehurst on the birth of their son Arthur. Mr Brocklehurst is our teacher in the Nursery. Good luck and many thanks to Mr Marshall for all his hard work and commitment to Flora’s. We wish him well in his new post at Pinkie St Peter’s Primary. We look forward to welcoming Mrs Rusbridge back from her maternity leave. Mrs Rusbridge and Mr Rae will teach P6a.

A huge thank you to you all for supporting our various fundraising events. This week we received a cheque for£73.25 from the company who supply the clothes recycling bin in our playground. Many thanks for your support.

What a fantastic array of delicious cakes and goodies at our Parent Council Bake Sale today. What a wonderful way to start the holiday break! Thank you to all!

A Happy Chinese New Year. Some of the nursery children sang a beautiful song and danced a dragon dance to celebrate Chinese New Year at our assembly today.

Our P6 and P7 pupils were wonderful at the recent Cross-Country Competition finishing amongst the top positions. We are very proud of them all indeed.

Mrs Wilson started the Chess Tournament today and great to see so many children in P4 to P7 taking part. Good luck to all!

An article focussed on our Programming Club led by Mr Clarke, one of our parents, has been written on the CEC Digital Team website.  See the link below for details.  This is a great example of how parents can support learning by using their skills and expertise to enhance curriculum delivery.
