Another busy week draws to a close. The new playground continues to be extremely popular and we are delighted with the imaginative play. Thank you to Sarah Clarke Judo who taught Judo to all of P5-7 and to P7 classes this week and to Niall from Sustrans for attending assembly today to support the Junior Road Safety Officers with ibike (we look forward to ‘Fluorescent Friday’ in December!)
It was lovely to meet our new Nursery parents and carers this week to tell them about our nursery curriculum, look at how we are doing ejournals for their children and show them around the nursery building.
On Wednesday we hosted our annual Open Day for parents and carers of next session’s P1 classes. Many thanks to the House Captains and Vice-captains for their help welcoming our visitors.
Enrolment week starts on Monday. If your child is eligible to start school next August, please pop into the school office to enrol them. You will find a catchment map on the Council website.
The Music School Open Day will be held tomorrow, Saturday 7 November in Broughton High School between 11.00 and 14.00. Our Music School Pupils will be there from 11.30 to 12.30 to demonstrate some of their lessons.
We look forward to finding out lots and lots about Robert Louis Stevenson next week. We will celebrate his unbirthday on Friday by wearing a moustache to school! Please ask your child about the learning in school. P5b will present the assembly on Friday. We are looking forward to hearing all about another famous Scottish Stevenson. (No relation to Flora Stevenson!)
The photographer from Tempest will be in school on Thursday to take class group photographs. Please ensure that your child is wearing school uniform, thank you.
We usually alternate class and individual photographs doing a year about. However, as the Evening News also take P1 and P7 class photographs every year we have decided to also do individual photographs for P1 and P7 this year. We thought that it would be lovely to have individual photographs at the beginning and end of a child’s seven year career at primary school. These photographs will be taken in January.
Missing necklace
We have lost a necklace. We suspect that it may have fallen into someone’s bag in the P7 cloakroom. It is an amber bead necklace of sentimental value. PLEASE look out for it. We would be delighted if we could return it to its owner!
