NEW BUILD CONSULTATION
You will have read in previous Flora’s Flyers that the
Children and Families Department are committed to consulting with you on the
new building proposed for our playground. A consultation evening to view the
plans and to discuss the proposals will take place on Tuesday 7th
October from 6.30 to 8.00pm. You are warmly invited to this ‘Drop-in’ session
in our school hall.
Parent-Teacher Consultations and the Book Fair
We look forward to seeing you at our individual
Parent-Teacher Consultations on 8th and 9th October. The
Book Fair is on next week and we would like to thank you in advance for
supporting this event. The commission allows us to ‘stock up’ on new books for
our library. Thank you.
Harvest Assembly
Next Friday is our Harvest Assembly and as we did last year,
we thought it would be good to support a local Food Bank. If you would like to
contribute, please send in one or two non-perishable tins and packets of food
on Thursday 9 October. Many thanks.
Thank you to P2a and P6a who led the assemblies today.
Fabulous facts about dinosaurs and wonderful poems! The next Class Assemblies
are on the 7 November with P2/3 and P7a taking centre stage.
Coffee Morning
We are delighted to be starting our monthly coffee mornings
again and warmly invite you to join us.
The Coffee Morning on the first Monday of each month is for
all parents and carers of both the school and the nursery classes to meet other
parents and carers over a cuppa. We look forward to seeing you on the 6th
October.
Coffee Mornings are held in the Dining Hall from 8.50am for an
hour.
Swimming
Pupils from P4 to P7 attended swimming trials at Glenogle Swimming Center on Thursday morning. The pupils were trying out for places on the school team. The team will be competing at the Edinburgh and Midlothian Swimming Championships in November. All of the children worked very hard in the pool and were a credit to the school both in terms of their effort and behaviour.
